The top three remained the same in this week’s Women’s Other Top 25 as Rhode Island came in at No. 1 for a third straight week. The Rams were followed by Atlantic 10 mate Richmond and North Dakota St. Fairfield and Princeton swapped spots at four and five.
URI has won 17 straight games and won at George Mason 79-63 on Saturday. The Rams are 23-2 overall and perfect 14-0 in the A10. The Spiders are 22-4 and have won 11 straight since their loss to Rhody. The two meet again next Wednesday in Richmond.
The Bison have won 21 consecutive games and sit at 23-2 this season. The Stags avenged their earlier loss to Quinnipiac 75-63 on the road to hand the Bobcats their first MAAC loss. The Tigers lost to Columbia Friday but bounced back with a win over Cornell.
South Dakota St. held steady at No. 6. Columbia moved up two spots to seventh. George Mason slid back one spot to eight. Harvard gave the Ivy League three teams in the top 10 and came in at No. 9. Rice joined the top 10 by jumping three spots to No. 10.
The Ivy League is shaping up to have quite a finish with the top four teams separated by a single game. The Lions and Tigers are 8-2, while the Crimson is tied with Brown at 7-3.
The Owls have it rolling. They have won 17 in a row and are a perfect 12-0 in American play to sit at 22-3 overall.
San Diego St. was one of the big movers of the week. The Aztecs vaulted eight spots from 19 to 11. Montana St. and James Madison followed, while Ball St. jumped from 21 to 14. Quinnipiac came next and dropped four spots.
The Aztecs are alone atop the Mountain West standings at 14-1. They’re 20-4 this year. The Cardinals have won six straight to sit 21-5 on the season.
Two teams joined the ranking this week. Colorado St. is back at No. 20. Idaho joined the poll for the first time at 25. The Rams are 19-7 this year. The Vandals ran their win streak to 10 games this week as they are now 21-5. They are alone atop the Big Sky standings, a game ahead of Montana St.
