The Miami Dolphins’ off-season makeover is kicking into high gear.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that the Dolphins are releasing veteran receiver Tyreek Hill.
Hill’s release will save the Dolphins $22.8 million against the salary cap, and it will make the eight-time Pro Bowl receiver a free agent for the first time in his career.
Hill, who turns 31 on March 1, is recovering from a season-ending injury suffered in a game against the New York Jets on Sept. 29 that required surgery to repair significant damage to his left knee, including a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The Dolphins also reportedly released veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb as newly hired general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan looks to clean house.
Hill joined the Dolphins in 2022 after being traded by the Kansas Chiefs for a first-round pick, two fourth-round picks and a sixth-round pick.
In 54 games with the Dolphins, Hill had 340 catches for 4,733 yards and 28 touchdowns.
