Florida basketball's Xaivian Lee named SEC Player of the Week

Florida basketball’s Xaivian Lee has been named co-SEC Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

With the honor, Florida (19-6, 10-2) has had a program-record and SEC-record-tying four different players win SEC Player of the Week honors this season.

The senior guard posted 18 points and seven assists with no turnovers to lead the Gators to victory at Georgia. He also scored or assisted on 14 of UF’s 32 field goals in the game.

Lee followed that with a 22-point performance in Florida’s win over Kentucky. He made his first four 3-point attempts against UK to tie his season-high.

This season, Lee has averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 assists per game.

Lee, Thomas Haugh, Rueben Chinyelu and Alex Condon have all earned the recognition, joining 2023-24 Texas A&M, 2010-11 Vanderbilt and 2007-08 Tennessee among programs with four different honorees in a season.

Lee shares the honor this week with Dailyn Swain of Texas.
