The Brooklyn Nets had a rough time during their first road trip after the All-Star break as they finished with a 3-0 record against some of the best teams in the NBA. Brooklyn dealt with some injuries over the course of the road trip, but as they come back to snowy New York, the Nets will finally have a fully-healthy rotation for the first time in awhile.
The Nets announced on Monday that forward Ziaire Williams will be available for Tuesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks after missing the road trip due to personal reasons. Williams has dealt with some injuries over the course of this season, but he has been available for the most part and has had his fair share of positive moments when he has seen playing for head coach Jordi Fernandez.
Williams, 24, is having another solid season during his time with the Nets as he's averaging 9.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 40.7% from the field and 31.3% from three-point land. Williams has played most of his games this season coming off the bench and with him available to play, this could mean that Fernandez will have to make a choice between him, forward Terance Mann, and forward Ochai Agbaji.
The most positive aspect of the injury report is the fact that the entire starting lineup will be available for what could be a winnable matchup against the Mavericks. Dallas will be without rookie sensation Cooper Flagg (foot), guard Kyrie Irving (knee), and Dereck Lively II (foot) for Monday's matchup so Brooklyn won't have to worry about defending those players.
The Nets are on a four-game losing streak that began with their 115-110 loss against the Indiana Pacers heading into the All-Star break so they are looking for a win sometime soon. Forward Michael Porter Jr. has been struggling with his offensive efficiency as of late, but the hope is that a matchup against a Mavericks team missing Flagg could be a good spot for him to bounce back.
For tomorrow's game against the Mavericks, the Nets say that rookie Ben Saraf and forward Josh Minott are OUT as they remain on their G League assignments with Long Island.
