INDIANAPOLIS — Former Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo still has believers in the NFL, even after being fired last month.
In his first season as an NFL play-caller in 2025, Patullo led one of the league’s worst offenses, prompting Philadelphia to make a change this offseason.
Next season, Patullo will receive another shot as the Dolphins’ pass-game coordinator, and new Miami head coach Jeff Hafley is excited to have him on staff.
“When I interviewed him, I was blown away — the knowledge that he has, the football experience that he has, what he did for that entire organization," Hafley said Tuesday at the NFL Combine. “Don’t forget: He won a Super Bowl and behind the scenes, what he did with that offense and with that whole team, listening to him talk and his football knowledge, not just about offense, but about game management, about situational football.”
Hafley’s comments may be surprising to Eagles fans after watching Patullo’s offense struggle in both the run and pass game, costing the team a deep playoff run in 2025.
Patullo spent the previous four seasons (2021-2024) as Philadelphia’s pass-game coordinator.
In a new environment with less pressure, Patullo could rebound. He could become an OC again with more coaching development.
Last month, the Eagles replaced Patullo with another first-year offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, hoping for better results. Under Patullo, Philadelphia finished 24th in total offense, 23rd in passing, 18th in rushing and 19th in scoring.
