Titans' Robert Saleh on his growth as a second-time NFL head coach

After meeting with the media at the NFL Scouting Combine, Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh sat down with NFL analyst Rich Eisen for an interview.

One of the first topics of discussion was what Saleh learned from his first head-coaching stint with the New York Jets, and, unlike his introductory press conference, he added some details.

“There's no handbook for a first time at anything you do. You just have to go through it, experience the highs and lows. There was a lot of things that I learned throughout that process that I'm taking with me—like better communication with players, handling adversity in the locker room, and refining our defensive schemes under pressure.” Saleh said, “There's a lot of things that I'm leaving behind, some decisions that didn't pan out, some approaches that needed tweaking. There's still a lot of room for me to grow, also, and I'm excited to apply it all here in Tennessee.”

One of the common themes noticed about Saleh this time around is that he appears more relaxed and that he did some self-scouting before taking the job. It likely helps his transition not being in media mecca like New York, and having an extremely experienced coaching staff with multiple former NFL head coaches sprinkled in definitely doesn’t hurt.

Of course, none of this matters in February, the real test will come when the Titans hit the field in 2026.
