Ticket ballot for 2027 World Cup opens to fans worldwide

Cricket fans around the world can now register for tickets to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, with a global ballot opening on 1 October 2026 for matches across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Entry is free and does not operate on a first come, first served basis. Any valid entry submitted between 1 October and 21 November 2026 will be treated equally, regardless of when during that window it was received.

The ballot launch coincides with the official release of the tournament’s match schedule, unveiled at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town.

Representatives from the ICC, the Local Organising Committee, the three host nations and the wider cricket community gathered to mark the occasion, celebrating the World Cup’s return to African soil for the first time since South Africa last hosted the tournament in 2003.

Fans can enter for as many individual matches as they like, with each treated as a separate ballot entry, and can request up to four tickets per match while selecting their preferred ticket category at the same time.

No payment is required to enter. Where demand for a particular match outstrips supply, a randomised draw will decide which entrants are offered the chance to purchase, with successful applicants notified by email and given a set window to complete their purchase. Matches that are not oversubscribed will see all registered fans offered access, with any leftover tickets potentially made available in later sales phases.

Entering the ballot does not guarantee tickets, but it does give fans anywhere in the world, for any of the three host nations, a fair and equal shot at attending what organisers are billing as Africa’s biggest Cricket World Cup yet.
