Cronin Apologizes to Ejected Player

UCLA coach Mick Cronin apologized to Steven Jamerson II for ejecting him during a loss to Michigan State, admitting he needs to do better at representing the school.

Cronin ejected Jamerson after the center committed a hard foul in the waning minutes of Tuesday's 23-point loss to the Spartans. The coach said he initially thought Jamerson made a dirty play but later admitted he didn't think the player deserved the flagrant-1 foul he received.

The UCLA coach acknowledged he's sometimes too candid in his comments and apologized to the school, students, and community. 'I have to do a better job of this, that in this climate, you've got to be careful with what you say,' Cronin stated. 'The last thing I want to do is bring negative publicity to our school.'
