Falcons Place Walker on IR, Claim Smith

The Falcons have placed linebacker Jalon Walker on injured reserve after he tore his ACL in practice. The team claimed defensive back Keidron Smith off waivers to fill the roster spot.

The Falcons officially ended Jalon Walker's season on Thursday by placing the 2025 first-round pick on injured reserve with a torn ACL. Walker will undergo surgery and spend the coming months rehabilitating for his third season. rocore.sbs

To fill the open roster spot, the Falcons claimed defensive back Keidron Smith off waivers. Smith was cut by the Jets on Wednesday after recording 15 tackles in three games for New York last season. He also had seven tackles in nine appearances for the Broncos in 2024.
