Fischer: Mainz Still Fighting Despite Turnaround

Urs Fisher has discussed Mainz 05's miraculous turnaround in an interview with Kicker, inherited a team dead last with just six points in early December. Since his appointment, Mainz has gained 25 points, moving to ninth place with 33 points and effectively securing safety from relegation. The team remains alive in the Conference League quarterfinals and could qualify for Europe via the Bundesliga table.

Fisher, however, insisted: 'We're still in the relegation battle, and nothing has been achieved yet.' Mainz has also beaten top teams including Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim, Leverkusen, Leipzig, and Frankfurt since Fisher arrived.
