Blue Jays' Valenzuela debuts as Kirk injured

Brandon Valenzuela makes his MLB debut with the Blue Jays on Easter Sunday, replacing injured catcher Alejandro Kirk who is on the IL.

Valenzuela, a 25-year-old catcher from Mexico, was called up from Triple-A Buffalo where he was hitting .207 with three home runs in 26 appearances. He was acquired from the San Diego Padres on July 31, 2025, in exchange for Will Wagner.
