Brewers' Koenig placed on IL with elbow sprain

Koenig, who has been pitching with reduced velocity this season, will attempt to rehab the injury and avoid surgery with the hope of returning in two to four weeks. The Brewers are calling up Shane Drohan, who may make his MLB debut in Koenig's place.

Drohan was acquired from Boston in the offseason as part of the Caleb Durbin trade. The left-hander downplayed any significance of potentially debuting against his former team, stating 'I was never really worried about what uniform I was wearing.'
