Dodgers Face Angels in Spring Opener

The Dodgers open spring training Saturday against the Angels with Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound and Shohei Ohtani starting as designated hitter.

The Dodgers and Angels face off in their first Cactus League exhibition game at Tempe Diablo Stadium on Saturday. Yoshinobu Yamamoto gets the start for Los Angeles, making his only appearance before joining Japan for the World Baseball Classic. Shohei Ohtani will start at designated hitter, marking his earliest spring action since joining the Dodgers.

The Angels will field nearly their projected everyday lineup, with José Soriano starting on the mound. Mike Trout is not expected to start for Los Angeles. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. PT and will be televised on SportsNet LA.
