Filipowski Adapts to Multiple Positions Amid Jazz Injuries

With the Jazz’s front court sidelined, 22‑year‑old Kyle Filipowski has taken on the center position, starting 38 games and boosting his minutes and stats.

Filipowski, who normally plays power forward, has been asked to play center by coach Will Hardy as the Jazz’s bigs have been injured. He has started 38 games, logged more minutes and improved in nearly every statistical category.

Hardy praised Filipowski’s flexibility, noting he can play five even though he is not a traditional center. The experience has helped the young forward understand the needs of teammates like Walker Kessler and Jaren Jackson Jr., and he feels the position switch has accelerated his development.
