Iowa Pursues Ben McCollum Contract Extension

Iowa’s athletics director Beth Goetz confirmed to the Des Moines Register that the university is preparing an extension for head men’s basketball coach Ben McCollum. The extension will add years and pay beyond the current deal that runs through April 2029, with McCollum earning $3.6 million in his second year and $4.1 million in his final year. The extension follows a 24‑win season and the team’s Elite Eight run, earning McCollum a $150,000 NCAA bonus. Goetz said the deal would be finalized soon and made public once ready.
