Martínez's brace helps LAFC storm past Cruz Azul

David Martínez scored a brace to lead LAFC to a dominant 3-0 victory over Cruz Azul in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Son Heung-min opened the scoring, setting the tone for the match at BMO Stadium. Martínez doubled the lead with a first-half brace before adding another in the second half, showcasing his ability to drive forward from midfield.

The Black & Gold extended their undefeated streak across all competitions to 9-0-2, with Hugo Lloris recording an eighth clean sheet in 11 matches. Head coach Marc Dos Santos praised the midfield's defensive work and Martínez's performance, describing the young forward's play as "Champions League" quality.
