Michigan beats UConn to win first title since 1989

The Michigan Wolverines defeated the UConn Huskies 69-63 in Indianapolis on Monday to claim their first national title since 1989.

Despite a sluggish start, Michigan built an 11-point lead late in the second half and held on for the victory. Junior guard Elliot Cadeau led the charge with 19 points, while Yaxel Lendeborg contributed 13.

For UConn, Alex Karaban scored 17 points, but the Huskies fell short of a three-peat.
