Midland Topples DWU in GPAC Softball

Midland’s 5-3 victory over Dakota Wesleyan in the first round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament ended the Tigers’ title hopes.

Midland opened the scoring with two runs in the third, added three in the fourth, and held a 5-0 lead before DWU scored late. Mackenzie Groninga pitched a complete game, striking out 14 and allowing only two earned runs. Dakota Wesleyan’s only hits came from Liliana Arreola and Alessandra Ciurca, with the Tigers finishing 35-17 and awaiting the NAIA national tournament selection on May 6. ipl-today.in
