Detroit right-hander Keider Montero delivered a strong performance, tossing 6 2/3 innings and allowing just one run to lead the Tigers to a 5-1 victory over the Rangers.

Montero allowed five hits and two walks while striking out two. His offense provided early support through Dillon Dingler’s three-run homer and Kevin McGonigle’s RBI single.

The Tigers (17-17) won 5-1, but suffered a blow when second baseman Gleyber Torres departed with left side tightness. The teams face off Sunday for the rubber match. blablasex.es
