Padres Minor League Action: Chihuahuas and Missions

The El Paso Chihuahuas and San Antonio Missions opened their seasons with strong performances, including a solid rehab start for pitcher Matt Waldron.

The El Paso Chihuahuas sit at 2-2, with rehabbing pitcher Matt Waldron allowing two hits and no runs over three innings in his debut. Waldron showcased improved velocity, averaging 93 mph with his fastball and utilizing a five-pitch mix that included a significant knuckleball usage.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Missions begin their season Thursday against the Tulsa Drillers, featuring top prospect RHP Miguel Mendez in the rotation. The team is also expected to feature utility man Wyatt Hoffman, son of Padres Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman.
