Pant uncertain about staying as LSG opener after loss

Lucknow Super Giants lost their IPL 2026 opener to Delhi Capitals, with Rishabh Pant's promotion to the opening slot ending in a run-out.

Pant scored just 7 before being run out by Mukesh Kumar, admitting the dismissal was a "50-50 call" for his future role. He emphasized ignoring the bad luck to move forward.

Despite partnerships from Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh, LSG managed only 141 before being bowled out. Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs then guided Delhi Capitals to a five-wicket victory.
