Pirates' Win Streak Snapped by Padres

The Pittsburgh Pirates' five-game win streak came to an end with a sloppy 5-0 defeat to the San Diego Padres at PNC Park on Monday night.

The Pirates had been playing clean baseball recently but reverted to last season's errors in this loss. San Diego took the lead in the fourth inning when Nick Castellanos doubled home a run off Bubba Chandler.

Key miscues continued throughout the game, including a bouncing double by Jackson Merrill in the fifth and a throwing error by Ryan O'Hearn in the eighth that allowed another run to score. Bubba Chandler (0-1) took the loss in his Pirates debut.
