Qiddiya Speed Park construction progresses ahead of 2028 F1 debut

New images show significant progress on the ambitious Qiddiya Speed Park in Saudi Arabia, the future home of the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Construction is advancing at Qiddiya Speed Park, the permanent venue set to host the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix starting in 2028. Designed by Hermann Tilke and Alexander Wurz, the track features a dramatic 70-meter high first corner known as "The Blade," designed to reach speeds of 325km/h.

Despite fan concerns about safety on the massive uphill hairpin, officials confirm the layout includes runoff areas and catch fences. The complex will also house a theme park and golf course, aiming to complete its debut season by 2028.
