Sheffield United owners investigated over £35m payment

The English Football League is investigating Sheffield United's owners, COH Sports, over allegations they are attempting to avoid paying £35m owed to previous owner Prince Abdullah.

COH Sports, led by Steven Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy, agreed to buy Sheffield United from Prince Abdullah for approximately £100m in December 2024, paying an initial £30m installment. However, they are alleged to have been late on a second payment and missed two subsequent installments due this year.

Abdullah's company, United World, has issued a winding-up petition against COH Sports in the high court and has raised concerns with both the EFL and the Independent Football Regulator.
