Skotheim on track to return after foot surgery

Sander Skotheim (23) is on track to return to competition by the end of May after a foot surgery in January. He hopes to compete in the 2024 European Championships in Birmingham.

Sander Skotheim suffered a ligament injury in his left foot during a training camp in January, requiring surgery to repair the damaged tissue. He has already completed his first throwing session post‑op and is progressing well toward a May return.

The 400m specialist missed the Paris Olympics and the Tokyo World Championships because of the injury, but he is now focused on the European Championships in Birmingham, where he aims for his first senior medal.
