Storm Dave halts Durham–Kent County Championship clash

Storm Dave blew off pitch covers and toppled scaffolding at Banks Home Riverside, flooding the wicket and making the ground unsafe. The Chester‑le‑Street venue was closed to spectators for safety, reopened at lunchtime, but a 3.40 pm inspection found one end too damp to play.

As a result, the scheduled play between Durham and Kent on day three of their Rothesay County Championship clash was halted, with no play possible until conditions improved.
