Teen Sisters Conquer Alcatraz Swim

Mitali and Anaya, two teenage sisters, have successfully completed the difficult Alcatraz to San Francisco swim numerous times, defying the waters' notorious reputation.

Despite the cold waters, strong currents, and limited visibility that make the Alcatraz swim one of the most challenging in the United States, the sixteen-year-old Mitali and her younger sister Anaya have completed the crossing dozens of times. Their journey began at a young age, inspired by friends and supported by rigorous training with an open water swim team.

The sisters emphasize that overcoming fear is the biggest hurdle in open water swimming. They rely on each other for support during the swims, taking comfort in their shared experience and strengthening their bond. Their achievements have surprised many who view the Alcatraz swim as extreme, but for Mitali and Anaya, it has become a normal part of their lives, inspiring others to pursue their own goals.
