Weather report for Michigan Football’s Spring Game

ANN ARBOR, MI - SEPTEMBER 10: Isolated storms and lightning near the stadium delay the pregame warmups and push back kickoff time prior to the Michigan Wolverines versus the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors game on Saturday September 10, 2022 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, MI. Happy Saturday! The Michigan Wolverines will take the field publicly for the first time under head coach Kyle Whittingham this afternoon during the yearly spring game. The game will kickoff at 2 p.m. and, if you aren’t going down to Michigan Stadium, can be viewed on Big Ten Network.

If you are heading down to The Big House today, you should be in for a treat. Not only will you get to see the new-look Wolverines for the first time, but you should be able to do so under relatively dry weather conditions. We’ve been looking at the weather radar all week long, hoping and praying the rain holds off so Michigan doesn’t have to cancel the game, which was last done back in 2018. And if the latest weather report is accurate, it appears we should be good to go today.

According to AccuWeather, there is a chance of thunderstorms early in the day, as well as rain beginning in the early morning hours and going until around 10 a.m. or so. But there is only a 20 percent chance of precipitation with overcast skies by the time the game starts.

The temperature at 2 p.m. will be 58 degrees and will only go down from there; by the time the game ends, it’ll be around 55 degrees. So if you are planning on going to the game — or even just tailgating in Ann Arbor — be sure to bundle up, bring a poncho just in case, and have fun!
