Pettit Center in Wisconsin celebrates Olympian Jordan Stolz with billboard, banners

Jordan Stolz has not yet returned to the United States after winning two gold medals and a silver at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, but his home training center is preparing for his big return.

The American speedskater and holder of two Olympic records is from Kewaskum. He trains at the Pettit National Ice Center, just off Interstate 94 in the same lot as the Wisconsin State Fair grounds in Milwaukee.

Also in that lot is a Lamar billboard, which as of Feb. 24 shares a congratulatory image of the Olympian and his accomplishments earlier this month.

The 21-year-old is currently in the Netherlands preparing for the Speed Skating World Championships in March. So, he hasn't seen the billboard or been back to the Pettit Center since his Olympic performance.

"What an incredible accomplishment he's made, and I'm so tremendously proud of him and proud that he's from the Milwaukee area," said Kevin Butler, spokesman for the Pettit Center.

The public can write a congratulatory message to Jordan Stolz

The Pettit Center is encouraging the public to come to the Pettit Center and sign banners with a congratulatory message that will then be received by Stolz.

One of the first signers of the banner was former Olympian Bonnie Blair Cruikshank, who also trained at the Pettit Center.

"They've come in droves to sign it today and it's getting full. We'll have to order a second one," Butler said Feb. 24. "It wasn't initially planned, but what great response from the Milwaukee community."

Butler anticipates the banners will be available to sign through at least Sunday, March 1.
