2026 Cowboys fantasy preview: Biggest bargain, bust, and wild card

If the season started today, one Cowboys player would be the team’s biggest fantasy bargain, another would be the biggest fantasy bust, and the third would be the biggest wild card.

Dak Prescott was one of my favorite preseason QB bargains last summer, when his positional ADP was inexplicably outside the top 10. He finished as the overall QB7 and looks primed for another strong season. I believe the market once again will overlook him. He should be viewed as a likely bargain.

Dallas recently handed Javonte Williams a deservedly generous contract. Playing on a one-year “prove-it” deal, Williams quickly outshone Miles Sanders and rookie Jaydon Blue to claim the unquestioned bell cow role. But he regressed in the latter half of the season en route to a career-high 287 touches.

He averaged a strong 5.2 yards per carry through Week 9, and then only 4.3 yards per carry the rest of the way. There should be questions about whether he can handle another full load, and even more questions about whether he can replicate his 2025 breakout campaign. Williams will probably be overvalued this summer.

Will the Cowboys keep George Pickens? He’s the ultimate wild card. In Dallas, he’s proven that he can be a top-10 fantasy WR. But his first three years in Pittsburgh show how much he (like most receivers) needs a great passer to help elevate him. If he stays in Dallas, he’ll be an early-round draft pick. If he goes elsewhere, a sub-par QB could push him outside the top 20.
