Towards the end of last summer, the possibility that Savinho could have left Manchester City seemed very real. Tottenham pushed hard to sign the Brazilian international, but in the end, City kept hold of a player who is talented with the potential to be a quality winger but is yet to fulfill that obvious potential. A new report has now emerged stating that several clubs are interested in signing Savinho next summer. But Manchester City has absolutely no intention of selling a player who figures to be a big player in Manchester City’s future.
Manchester City have no intention of selling Savinho.
Mark Brus has reported for CaughtOffside that several clubs have an interest in signing Savinho next summer. Brus reports that Tottenham, Juventus, and several La Liga clubs are interested in signing Savinho, but Manchester City are determined to keep hold of the Brazilian international. Furthermore, Mark Brus reports that Hugo Viana rates Savinho highly and that Pep Guardiola is eager to see the young winger fulfill his obvious potential. Due to this, and the fact that Savinho signed a contract extension earlier this season, he will not be sold by Manchester City.
Savinho could have an important role to play this season and in the future for City.
It would seem that Savinho is too highly rated at Manchester City for the young winger to be sold next summer. While the Brazilian international has shown flashes of quality during his time at City, it is clear to see that if Savinho fulfills his potential, he will be a key player in Pep Guardiola’s squad. Due to this, City seem determined to keep hold of the young winger. Looking ahead to the remainder of this season, and beyond, Savinho could have an important role to play for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Manchester City remain in contention in four competitions this season. To contend on multiple fronts, Pep Guardiola needs all of his squad to contribute. At his best, Savinho can be a game-breaking winger with his dribbling ability and ability to maintain possession. Savinho is a different type of player from Jeremy Doku, Antoine Semenyo, and any other winger in the City squad. Savinho’s ability to break open a game could be vital for Pep Guardiola’s side this season. Looking further ahead, Savinho has the potential to be a world-class winger. It is up to him to fulfill that potential.
Manchester City seems determined to keep Savinho. He is seen as an important player in City’s future, and as such, City won’t entertain offers for the Brazilian international next summer.
