Barcelona stars confident of Atletico turnaround after Villarreal rout: ‘It’s always possible’

After their convincing 4-1 win over Villarreal, Barcelona have secured their lead in La Liga for another matchday.

The victory not only strengthened their domestic position, but also injected belief into the squad ahead of a huge test in the Copa del Rey against Atletico Madrid.

Now, all attention turns to Tuesday night at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Hansi Flick’s side must attempt what many see as almost impossible, overturning a 4-0 deficit against Atletico Madrid to reach the Copa del Rey final.

Despite the size of the challenge, the dressing room has not given up, especially after a strong performance against Villarreal.

Everyone believes

The first player to speak publicly was Lamine Yamal. Fresh from a standout performance against Villarreal, the teenager sent a message through the club’s official social media accounts, holding the match ball after his hat trick.

He said, “See you on Tuesday at Camp Nou, it could be a magical night.”

Furthermore, Dani Olmo also expressed confidence. Speaking after the match, he made it clear that the squad is fully focused on the comeback attempt.

He stated, “We are motivated, we know we can do it, we expect a great atmosphere at the Camp Nou. We have seen it in the past, we can come back at the Camp Nou.

“The team played a great game against Villarreal. We wanted to be in good shape for Tuesday.”

On the other hand, left-back Alejandro Balde highlighted the simple logic behind their optimism.

He explained: “It’s always possible. If they scored four goals in the first leg, we can do the same in the second leg. It will be difficult, but we will give it our all.”

Meanwhile, young centre-back Pau Cubarsi echoed that fighting spirit.

He admitted the task is demanding but refused to rule it out, saying, “We will do our best, it is possible to come back, but it won’t be easy.”

Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona have already shown resilience this season, and now, they are calling on their fans to turn the Camp Nou into a fortress once again.
