Real Madrid loanee explodes in France, surpasses Mbappe and Messi’s start

What Endrick is doing in France right now is rare, especially for a 19-year-old still adjusting to European football.

Since arriving at Olympique Lyonnais on loan from Real Madrid, the Brazilian forward has needed less than 10 games to turn heads across Ligue 1

His numbers are not just impressive. They are historic when placed in context.

In his first six league appearances in France, Endrick has scored three goals and provided three assists. That means he has directly contributed to six goals in just six matches.

Add two more goals and another assist in Cup competitions, and the impact becomes even clearer.

Even in defeat, he delivered. Against Marseille, Endrick assisted both Lyon goals, showing no fear of the big stage.

When comparing starts, the numbers speak loudly.

In fact, after moving to Paris Saint-Germain, he contributed to five goals in his first six Ligue 1 matches.

While these are strong numbers, Endrick’s six direct contributions in six games slightly edge that start.

As for Lionel Messi, his Ligue 1 debut season began more quietly. His first goal in France did not arrive until matchday 6.

If there is a benchmark that remains distant, it is Neymar.

In his first six Ligue 1 matches after signing from Barcelona, Neymar scored six and assisted five. Those numbers remain extraordinary.

Still, for Lyon, Endrick has already become one of the most productive winter additions in recent French football.

In the first two months of 2026, only Ousmane Dembele and Ludovic Ajorque have been involved in more Ligue 1 goals.
