Scherzer's daughter's Blue Jays letter 'cutest thing'

Max Scherzer praised his 8-year-old daughter's handwritten letter to the Blue Jays asking for his return as 'the cutest thing you can possibly imagine.'

After recently agreeing to a $3 million, one-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, Scherzer shared the note his daughter Brooke composed during a December letter-writing session to Santa. The 8-year-old wrote, 'I am so sorry that you didn't win the World Series. I hope that you win next time. I hope my dad is back on the team.'

Scherzer, who wanted to return after the Blue Jays' near-miss in the World Series, noted that he and his wife didn't actually send the letter to the team, calling it 'a bad negotiating tactic.' The pitcher expressed his excitement to be back with a team he believes can win a championship.
