Chiefs Plan to Release Jawaan Taylor to Clear Cap Space

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly cutting starting tackle Jawaan Taylor to free up $20 million in salary cap space before the new league year begins.

According to sources, Taylor was informed that he would be released before the start of the league year if a trade partner could not be found. The 28-year-old has been a durable presence for Kansas City, starting 111 games over seven seasons.

Releasing Taylor will allow the Chiefs to get under the necessary salary cap limits for the upcoming season.
