Coolidge Athletics Placed on Probation After Basketball Game

AIA has placed Coolidge High School's entire athletics department on 365-day probation following taunting allegations during a boys basketball playoff game.

The Arizona Interscholastic Association imposed sanctions on Coolidge High School after allegations of taunting during a Class 3A boys basketball playoff game. The penalties include a one-year playoff ban for all athletic teams at the school, which is currently being appealed.

If upheld, Coolidge would be disqualified from this week's semifinal game against Snowflake. The AIA initiated an investigation after receiving video footage of the incident, which drew attention from Arizona state legislator Myron Tsosie.
