Italian golfer Andrea Pavan has been discharged from a South African hospital one week after falling three stories down an elevator shaft.

Andrea Pavan, who suffered multiple injuries including fractures to several vertebrae when he fell down an elevator shaft in South Africa, has been discharged from the hospital. The 36-year-old golfer underwent back and shoulder surgeries following the accident last week.

Pavan will remain in South Africa for approximately five more weeks of rehabilitation before returning to the United States. "It truly feels like a miracle to be able to walk," he shared on social media, expressing gratitude for the support he's received. A GoFundMe set up for the DP World Tour winner has raised over $81,000 to assist with his recovery.
