Mississippi House Passes NIL Tax Exemption

The Mississippi House has approved a bill that would prevent the state from taxing earnings that college athletes make through their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities. This legislation aims to support student-athletes who can now profit from their personal brands without facing additional tax burdens.

The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration. If enacted, Mississippi would join other states in creating favorable conditions for college athletes to monetize their athletic status while pursuing their education.
