Wolverhampton, bottom of the Premier League, secured a surprising 2-0 victory over third-placed Aston Villa Friday evening.

Wolverhampton took the lead 15 minutes into the second half when João Gomes scored after receiving a pass from Adam Armstrong. The Brazilian sealed the win with a second goal late in the match, giving the bottom-placed team a surprise victory over the Premier League's third-place team.

Norwegian player David Møller Wolfe remained on the bench throughout the match as Wolverhampton climbed off the foot of the table with their impressive performance.
