Mid-Major Madness Women’s Player of the Week Voting: Feb. 16-22

We have reached the final days of February, and as conference races heat up, several players across the country excelled over the last week. We need your help to decide who had the best week and deserves to be named the Mid-Major Madness Women’s Player of the Week.

Sophia Gregory (Youngstown State)

Gregory had a monster game in the Penguins’ win at Purdue Fort Wayne as she scored 37 points on 16-of-19 shooting and pulled down 19 rebounds. That’s the first 37-point, 19-rebound game in Division I since 2017. She scored 14 points in the final five and a half minutes to help lead YSU to a 76-71 win as it locked up the two seed in the Horizon League. She also had three assists, three steals, and two blocks. The sophomore forward opened the week with six points and 17 boards in a win at Northern Kentucky. She averaged 21.5 points and 18 rebounds a game for the week.

Paris Locke (N.C. A&T)

Locke recorded the first triple-double in N.C. A&T program history with 22 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds in the Aggies’ triple-overtime win over Northeastern. All three of those marks were career highs for the forward from Baltimore. She did not register a single turnover across 51 minutes of action.

Brooklyn Meyer (South Dakota State)

Meyer had a career day to lead the Jackrabbits to a 95-93 win at Oral Roberts. She scored an SDSU program-record 44 points on 15-of-22 shooting and 14-for-17 from the free throw line. She added four assists, three rebounds and three blocks. The forward closed the week with 19 points and 10 rebounds in a road win at Denver. She averaged 31.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, three assists and three blocks for the week.

Charlotte O’Keefe (UTRGV)

O’Keefe had a pair of big games as she reached a major career milestone. She just missed her second 20-20 game this season as she tied a career high with 23 points and 19 rebounds in a win at Southeastern Louisiana. She opened the week with 18 points and 18 boards in a loss at McNeese State. Her 37 boards for the week are the most in DI. The forward from Overland Park, Kansas, reached the 1,000-point mark for her career and is the only player in program history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

Zoey Ward (Iona)

Ward had two double-doubles as she posted 22.5 points and 13 rebounds per game last week while shooting 53.1% from the field and 50% from deep. She started the week with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Siena. The junior outdid that performance with career highs of 29 points and 15 boards in a win at Saint Peter’s. She was the only MAAC player to record two double-doubles as she helped the Gaels extend their win streak to four.
