Former University of Florida standout Cornelius Ingram is returning as head football coach at Hawthorne High School after initially stepping away in January. Ingram had been considered for other positions in the Gainesville region but ultimately decided Hawthorne was the best fit for him in 2026.
During his previous 11 seasons at Hawthorne, Ingram compiled an impressive record of 104-22 with three state championships in 2022-23 and 2025. The former Gators' standout, who was an All-SEC performer in 2007 when he played a key role in Tim Tebow's Heisman Trophy season, will lead the Hornets this fall in the FHSAA's 1A classification.
