Shiffrin Wins Second Olympic Slalom Gold

Mikaela Shiffrin won her second Olympic slalom gold medal, becoming the first US skier to claim three Olympic golds in alpine skiing.

The 30-year-old American dominated the women's slalom in the Dolomites with a two-run time of 1:39.10, finishing 1.50 seconds ahead of Switzerland's Camille Rast for silver. This was the largest winning margin in Olympic alpine skiing since 1998 and ended an eight-year Olympic gold drought for Shiffrin.

Sweden's Anna Swenn Larsson claimed bronze, while fourth-placed Wendy Holdener of Switzerland was the only other skier within two seconds of the winner.
